The Calc GS only seems to let me edit gst files.
Is there a newer version? :?

no...open up the .gst file for the tiles and then open up the .gsm file for the map. You gotta have the tiles opened up first.
The Revolution is here...

Yeah, many projects are dying right now (Mario, Diortem, etc), but new projects pop out from everywhere  and many old projects are revived

if it is discontinued then why is it still on the project board? why was it discontinued in the first place any way? Looked pretty good to me.

what a dissapointment

Yes, it is no running project anymore. I will either finish this within a short time whenever I have time again, or just forget about it completely. Much better then a 'standby' project, i hate those things.

We can make our own level by modding the source I think?

yeah I like that Idea, give us what you have (with a level setup) and we'll do the rest individually for ourselves.

Thats exactly what I did... the complete source is in the RAR file. objects (= character/monsters/upgrades) sprites and animation data is in DATA.INC, map is in LEVEL.INC (made using CalcGS), OBJECT.INC contains all functions (except drawing) on objects, DRAW.INC contains all object-drawing functions, and of course FASTMAP.Z80 which is the main program. And some accesoiry files with misc funtions.

If you cant compile it righ away, copy tasm80.tab, and zasm.bat from here:
http://www.maxcoderz.net/mario
save these files to the source dir. Download TASM and DEVPAC83 and put them in your path.
then go to command prompt, go to the source dir, and run "zasm fastmap" to compile.
