Landscape Editor

The landscape editor is pretty much done, I just have a few more things to tweak with it. I'm going to release it before Tankies so that landscapes can be made, and I think that I might hold a mini-contest: the 3 best landscapes made will be packaged with Tankies upon its release. That is, of course, if people even make landscapes :) Expect the editor's release within the next few days.

Okay, it's ready for release :) I'm having major issues with my modem so uploading won't be easy, and I need to finish the readme. Should be availible for download tonight :D

So, are you going to finish the readme file? :).

It is ready. Clicky!!

Please report any bugs (exluding the 'bugs' mentioned in the readme) you might find, and give insight on what features you'd like to see in the editor. The reason why it's 0.8 instead of 1.0 is because 1.0 will be released with Tankies will all features that end up getting into it.

For suggestions please be reasonable and realize it's only TI-BASIC. :)

Oh, and have fun messing with it.

And remember, you can ask to be in the mini competition; if theres enough entries, I'll host a poll and let people vote on their favorites. I'm not going to be all technical on the competition though, meaning there really aren't rules.

Here's a few ideas for landscapes: you don't HAVE to use the editor to make them, you can take something like a picture of castle, shrink it down and convert to b&w, then do minor editing and have a 'castle' landscape, where the tanks duke it out ontop a castle. Or another thing that could be made is a picture of a anime character, or something. The only limit is the amount of colors and the screen size! :D

How many are we allowed to enter for your mini-contest? :)

That depends, because I only plan on having 3 winners, so it depends on how many people submit any. For now only 1, so if you plan on making more, submit which one you think is best.

You should allow them to submit as many as they want, but can only win with one of them.

How could people vote for all of them then? Tournament style?

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of entering an entire levelset :D eight pics! But I suppose I could just enter the best one.

Could I see a sample level so that I have an ida of what you're looking for? Do you want the levels to look somewhat random like the old 83 Battletanks game, or actually draw teraain that looks like terrain?
