Returning to Game Development

Post by Kerey »

Hello all, it's been a long time!

You may know me as the creator of The Shadow of Narkemen, the RPG for the TI-83. After graduating from college, I worked at Amazon for a number of years, and left to start my own game company about a year ago.

We're about to do a Kickstarter campaign to fund the next year of development of our first title and would love to have the support of the old TI community. The project is a turn-based strategy game with a focus on multiplayer.

More details to come!

Kerey Roper?!?! Wow it's been nearly a decade since i've seen you around! Should i still be holding my breath for Part II to come around (or any chance on releasing what was done)? :P

It seems like there's not much really on your site, or maybe it's just blocked here. Looking forward to seeing what you've got in store, though :)

EDIT: Also, not many people come around here anymore. I don't know if you've posted over at Cemetech or Omnimaga but you'd probably get a larger response and lots of people would be glad to see you around again. Also, if you've still got it, it'd be nice to get the source code. That way an 83+ port could finally be made :)

I wouldn't be holding my breath if I were you, heh. Especially since Narkemen was meant to be a three part game.

We're just getting started on the site, so it's a bit of a placeholder currently. That said, I just set up Wordpress with bbPress forums today, and hopefully it will meet our needs for engaging with the community. Otherwise, Twitter and Facebook are good ways to keep posted on what we are doing.

Thanks for the tip on Omnimaga and Cemetech btw. I'll probably visit there once we've got a bit more material uploaded.

Hey man. I'm lurking still on this site. Good news, and very interested in what you will be putting up on kickstarter. I'll make sure to check it out once it's on there.

Thanks, good to hear from you again kv.

By the way, I've found a couple Dutch language sites that are Kickstarter-friendly. Would you mind dropping them an email once we go live?

I've attached an Alpha screenshot as a token of my gratitude. :)
