Yes we have those 'trying to be trendy' anti-piracy ads on DVD's now ... but they arent really too annoying since i usually put a movie on whilst im getting food and stuff ready. By the time im done, its at the menu.

Well stealing is a seperate course of action but the only way companies will change anything is if there's money in it for them to do so.

If the consumers want players and media without DRMAIDS and actually act on that then companies will listen.

So, whenever we buy anything new we should ask for the product without DRMAIDS?
Companies* only listen to money, so if no one buys annoying products they might listen?

*: most of them anyway
