I've found an artist to help, and I have some other people who are tentative. At the moment, I am considering:

83+, z80 app
PC, Gamemaker
PC, Dark Basic

And possibly, but not likely, C++ or Python with OpenGL 3d.

To be honest, I'd prefer PC, because I feel this game has grown beyond the bounds of the 83+. I do believe it can be done for calc, but color, and especially music, would be very beneficial to my artistic vision.

Hey, you can make music on a calc, though only for the 83+/84+ SE and maybe the regular 84+. It also has to be pretty low quality for multiple tracks to be kept on the calc, but hey, it's still going to be music 8) .

calc programming sucks compared to computer programming...
just the number of options and color and sound makes it more fun.
I'm never going back to calc programming.
I think, therefore iMac

If you know a bit of C++, I would still suggest considering hge if its going to be 2d; its functionality and power blow Gamemaker and Dark Basic out of the water. Its documentation is actually readable too
