yeah, we usually get an ice storm once a year that knocks out power for a day or two and makes the roads slick. It gives us a snow day from school, but that's about it. However, with all the tree branches already down, it's doubtful there'll be any more significant damage this year if we have an ice storm.

This happend on my campus one February. The following year, melted sleet re-froze overnight leaving a 1" city-wide glaze of ice and a chance to use our lawnchairs as sleds. Exams delayed for all. The mysterious white substance was never seen again.

Or, indeed, anywhere else. When I were a lad, we had to walk the 12 miles - barefoot - at 5AM. Uphill. Both ways.

yeah, well, while my brother and sister(in middle and high school) got the friday, the next week, and the following monday off, I only got friday and monday off. Why couldn't this have happenned last year when I was still in high school?! :x

also, last february, some people built a big igloo in one of the central areas at my university. I think they even spent a night in it.

My friends went on a school camp to the snow where one of the tasks was to build an igloo and spend the night in it. They said that it actually wasnt that difficult to make and was warm enough once a few people had spent some time inside it. Of course they didnt look much like the perfet dome style igloos you see around, but it got the job done.

Its coming up to summer here in Australia, we dont have a 'White Christmas' here, nice and warm :).

Hmm, reminds me of the storm we had over here a year ago...

(I live close to the border with Germany, for those critics who read Dutch ;))

Around this time one year ago. Twente was unreachable by any means of transport, Oldenzaal had no power for several days, the rest of the power grid in our region only just managed to cope. Cellphones didn't work...

The rest of the country however, only got around 5cm of snow that day, so it's no wonder you don't remember :)

Hahaha, I'm hoping for some snow tomorrow so I don't have to take a math test XD... We're only supposed to get 4-6 inches though so I'm not putting too much faith into it.
