TI-89 Titanium for christmas

Post by Loki »

I'm getting a TI 89 Titanium for christmas, and I know nothing about it...could anyone tell me how much different it is from the TI 84+? Is there any difference from TI-84 BASIC and TI-89 BASIC?

One thing that disappointed me about TI-89 Basic, given how powerful it was in other areas, was that you're limited to only about 2/3 of the screen (you can't draw on the toolbars on the top and bottom). There are of course assembly utilities to get around this, Flib being the best in my opinion.
just try to be nice to people.

DEM will be pure Ti-89 Basic. It's going to be a race between finishing DEM for Ti-89 Basic, DEMD for Ti-83+ in ASM, or DEMZ for Ti-89 in C.

Ya, when it comes to 89s, it's pure Basic for me. 83+s, xlib :D :D

How come my topic wasn't recommended? Ti-89 Basic, Why doesn't this work?

edit: congrats Loki, for getting an 89Ti :D :D :D

btw, do you like RPGs a lot? because your avatar looks like some RPG handbook. correct me if I'm wrong.

ah yes, the DEM projects are all RPGs, and I'll never finish them until I graduate college because I almost never have time to program. (DEM in chem class, DEMD during vacations, and DEMZ when I'm sick of the other two languages. :D :D

@calc: Yeah, I love RPGs. But my avatar is actually a picture of the Necronomicon. I meant to find the one from Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness but never did/could.

Anyway, thx for the info. Won't be flying solo like i was when i first picked up a TI-83+...

89t is cool, but i would have preferred a DS >:).

Would be a good idea to start learning C if you havent done so already, those calcs a re a bit more developer friendly than the good ol z80's :).

Yes but I already have a ti-83+SE, so I didn't get anything new at all.

You mean archive, right? And the 8k execution limit is only the case with nostub.

So I can make an ION based game with 16k of executable and 16k of data? I predict that that may be how much I need. Maybe even more data. :( :( :(

They don't exist in MA. Only Bestbuy, Circuit City, that's about it.

Speaking of Nintendo DS, I'm disappointed that I got a red GBA SP. I should have gotten a blue one and then bought the new red DS package with mario kart. Then again, I don't think my parents would get me one after getting me an 89Ti for my-bday.

Did I mention TIfreak has a great tutorial on the differences between 83+ and 89 Basic? http://tifreakware.calcgames.org/tutorials.htm
