Of course there are lobbyists on the other side (like IPac) preventing the thing from getting passed. Not all lobbying is corrupt; typically interest groups only help politicians who are already on their side. Though yes, it is irritating to know that so many of them still did not know what was on t...

Bills that bizzare rarely come to a vote, though it's good that people are keeping an eye out for them.

You Are 54% Evil http://images.blogthings.com/howevilareyouquiz/evil-3.jpg You are evil, but you haven't yet mastered the dark side. Fear not though - you are on your way to world domination. How Evil Are You? http://www.blogthings.com/howevilareyouquiz/ I never thought I was that evil. Oh, well. J...

Michael Abrash's Programming Black Book (2001)
It's a really good guide to graphics. You have to sign up to see it, but its free and they don't spam your email (provided you uncheck the relevent boxes).

If no strange sounds are comming from them, they are almost always repairable. If reformating doesn't work, take it into a shop. They are internals, right?

And don't lean too hard on relativity. Which aspects specifically of relativity does it disprove? " Read an article about it here. " I guess you can't put a return inside the tags... And people have been promising antigravity via strong magnetic waves for the last decade, but without even...

College Board is taking heat for its AB free-response question #3. I think it's the one that expected you to remotely call the method you made earlier in the question, but which had been declared private. I got around that by making a public method that called the private one, but I think the whole ...

*Sagely* That's why you must leave the universe, Grasshopper.

My new avatar reflects that gateway into another universe. Unfortunately, the way is blocked by a smug-looking fractal.
There's little you can do when that happens...

The Kardaschev scale predicts we would be a Class III civilization by AD 7800, colonizing galaxies. Also, free-reign time travel is possible with faster than light ships. Time has some strict rules, just like the speed of light does, but they only apply within our universe. If it becomes possible to...

The difficulties faced by BASIC programmers are a direct result of their chosen language. Assembly is the best (and usually only) solution to many of those problems. That's from experience; I'm sure most of us have tried this stuff, but the language is about as rigid as a functional language could b...

The first test I took for practice was the 2005 exam. The case study question needed a location-seeking method, and even provided a helper method for determining how close a space was to the destination. I didn't notice that is was there, and so I spent all but 15 minutes on that question alone tryi...

AP or AB? I took AB, and was shocked at all the algorithm reading required (about twice what the practice tests I took had indicated). At least the short answer part was merciful. (Can't talk about that part for 48 hrs; students on the moon might still be taking it.)
